What is Dear Lottery (Lottery Sambad)?
Dear Lottery — popularly called Lottery Sambad across Bengal, the North-East and Tamil Nadu — is the umbrella name for the daily paper lotteries run by the state governments of Nagaland, Sikkim and West Bengal. Three draws are held every single day of the year: 1 PM (Dear Morning), 6 PM (Dear Day) and 8 PM (Dear Evening / Night).
Each draw has its own weekly scheme name that rotates with the day of the week, and each scheme prints its own ticket series. The top prize on the flagship Nagaland draws is ₹1 crore, which is why the 1 PM and 8 PM results are the most searched lottery queries in India.

West Bengal and the Lottery Sambad name
"Lottery Sambad" is essentially the Bengali-language name for these draws, which is why queries like লটারি সংবাদ and ডিয়ার লটারি carry enormous search volume from West Bengal, Tripura and Bangladesh.
West Bengal runs its own state lottery alongside the Dear draws. If your ticket is a West Bengal scheme ticket, check that scheme's result rather than the Nagaland or Sikkim numbers.
How to read your Dear Lottery result
A Dear Lottery ticket carries a series (for example 65G) and a five-digit number (for example 50053). The 1st prize is announced as the series plus the number together — so 65G 50053 wins ₹1 crore, and every other series ending in 50053 wins the consolation prize of ₹1,000.
Below the 1st prize, the sheet lists ten 2nd prize numbers, ten 3rd prize numbers, ten 4th prize numbers and one hundred 5th prize numbers. Those prizes are paid on the number alone, whatever the series, which is why the same five digits can win in thousands of tickets at once.
